Who We Are
We are a husband and wife home chef combo. We first started this site after struggling to find quality reviews for the kitchen tools that we rely on everyday to cook for our kids. Hopefully you find our reviews useful, please let us know if you have any questions (or they helped you make the right choice)!
Our Process
Both my husband and I have spent so much time cooking that we know exactly what to look for in a non-stick pan. It comes down to this:
- The non-stick coating: How "non-stick" is it really? Does it last or wear out?
- Is the pan prone to warping?
- Does it heat up quickly and distribute heat evenly?
- Is it a solid construction, or does the handle get loose?
- Is it dishwasher-safe and oven-safe?
- Is it a good size and weight?
- Is it easy to carry? This is from the weigh-distribution and the grip on the handle.
- Is it PFOA-free and safe to use?
Taking that into account, we then found pans to test on Amazon. Some were chosen because of their standing on Amazon such as: many positive reviews, a known brand name, or top of the search results. We also bought pans that were recommended to us, or we heard about elsewhere.
At first we bought just 5 pans and cycled through them in turn. As this went on, we'd replace any pans that started to fail or fell short of our expectations. We kept this going until we had gone through around 12 pans total and finally found the one that we liked the most.
